iLuv iEA15WHT iPod Remote with Third-party Headphones Adapter for VoiceOver (White) Review
I had the headphones from Apple and after much use, it failed. I was listening to audiobooks while walking around in New York City, so there was lots of going back and reviewing - and it couldn't take it. So I wanted to find something like this. br /br /So far, I like it and plan to use it with some noise-cancelling headphones I recently purchased. But I've not used it like the original headphones, so I can't totally speak yet for durability. Anyway, at this price I bought two (actually three - one for my ex-girlfriend). This way I'll have an extra for if/when it breaks. :)

What was Apple Thinking? - Mark F. Haner -
It works. That's the best I can say. Shame on apple for making the shuffle so small that this device is needed. It would be better if the center button was more obvious and there was more travel in the volume buttons. I find it hard to use when I'm running
No substitute for remote-operated earphones - Samuel Chell - Kenosha,, WI United States
No doubt you've discovered the inconvenience of having an iPod stuffed in a pocket or tucked away, all but inaccessible while you're running or engaged in other mobile pursuits. At that moment the thought of earphones with an in-line control seems like a great idea. You could pay a couple of dollars more for iLuv phones with volume control or twenty more for Sony or Sennheiser phones with in-line volume.br /br /That might not be a bad idea, in spite of the appeal of this "universal" iPod adapter: it would appear to allow use of your best headphones while performing several functions in addition to merely increasing/decreasing volume. But, as with perhaps most iLuv/J-Win products, there are limitations:br /br /1. It will move up or down the songlist with a few select iPods--Nano4g, Touch2g. With others, such as the Classic (mine, anyway) and earlier generations, it does nothing--nada, not even altering volume.br /2. It will announce song tunes with iPods (Nano5g) that have such a provision.br /3. The extra cord is no more than a foot long, short enough to make the iPod itself almost as accessible as the cord.br /4. The control itself is a miniature little cylinder, with a bare "sliver" of a rocker panel to work with--not user-friendly, especially while running and exercising.br /5. Lowering and raising the volume, assuming the iPod is compatible, requires numerous rapid clicks on the rocker panel rather than a single depression.br /br /In sum, unless you have a late-model Nano or Touch, this device may be pointless. And even if it is compatible with your iPod, there are problems to be aware of.br /br /Presently, the black one is priced significantly lower than the white one. Under the circumstances, it's not hard to like black.
