Monster iEZClick Remote Control for iPod (Black) Review

I have several iPods. I am using this unit with my 3GS iPhone and 2nd gen Touch. I have used it for a few days of snowmobiling. All I wanted was something for pause and play. The volume controls are okay, they do tend to go all or none, but I have so much noise and I have the sound check at a safe level so my ears don't get killed. The pause and play function has been outstanding. After 10 hours of riding in sub 10 degree weather and getting a lot of snow on the remote, it continued to work very well. On day three it started flaking a bit so I replaced the battery and it was working well again. A battery should last much longer in normal temp conditions. I did notice if the iPod is in sleep mode, you sometimes need to hit the play button or skip button twice. But I didn't think it was a big deal. It is very convenient not having to go in my coat and find the iPod to pause play so I can talk or hear a conversation. Overall it does the job and allows for wire free operation of the iPod. I have tried other wired inline remotes and frankly they work about the same as this unit. So for why not go with this and enjoy not dealing with more wires?

Works fine for me - snowboardernj -
Despite reading some bad reviews, I purchased it anyway because it was a cheap gamble. So far, it has worked exactly like it should. I haven't had it or used it for very long, but no real complaints. It worked for the 8 hours I needed it on the mountain for 4 straight days.

Great concept, poor execution - Mark Wainwright - San Diego, CA
I have both an older 4th gen iPod Photo (60gb) and a 5th gen iPod Video (60gb) for which it works fine except for the Next track button. Of course, other than turning it on and off or play/pause is a pretty crucial feature. Their India help desk didn't offer me any suggestion other than to return it to the vendor as it's discontinued. Should be a great product. Seems like quality control sucks. Steer clear.br /[...]
